Hotpoint FDPF481

Nowadays, many people are going for built in dishwashers because you can hide them away behind a cupboard door. You don’t have to do this with the Hotpoint FDPF481, though. It’s available in a range of colours and every single one of them looks gorgeous — in a modern kitchen it would blend it seamlessly.

As well as being easy on the eyes, the Hotpoint FDPF481 is easy on the person with a lot of dishes to wash. It has a fantastic 14 place setting capacity, which means you can wash a huge amount of dishes in one go. This’ll save you money on your electricity bills as you won’t have to do quite so many washes, but the fact the Hotpoint FDPF481 has an A Class energy efficiency rating will be doing that anyway.

So it’s pretty and energy efficient, but how does it clean? Well, the answer to that is it cleans extremely well, with an A rated washing performance. You can choose from a staggering eight cleaning programmes on the Hotpoint FDPF481, which use four different temperatures. Whether you have baked on dried food, delicate glasses to wash or need your dishes clean in a hurry, there is a programme to suit you.

The last programme is particularly useful because the Hotpoint FDPF481 cycle times are exceptionally long — but with the quick wash you’re only able to wash a small amount of dishes properly in double quick time. Also, although the Hotpoint FDPF481 has a huge capacity, the inside of it is laid out in such a way that taking full advantage of it is really difficult. If your plates are bigger than 27cm in diameter you’ll have to wash them by hand, as they just won’t fit in.

Unlike many dishwashers the dishes are very dry when the cycles have finished, so you don’t have to spend time drying them. There are also handy features such as a remaining time display and a start delay. Overall the Hotpoint FDPF481 is a decent machine, with its big capacity being its main selling point.
