The oven is designed with five programmable cooking functions, including slow cook and defrost options, which automate the oven turning on and off, which means you can leave food unattended without worrying about overcooking. These different functions allow real flexibility when it comes to cooking food — there’s always a programme for what you need. On top of this, the controls are easy to master as well, which is handy.
The oven itself is stainless steel on the outside and dark enamel on the inside. The internal walls are coated in a catalytic liner which makes for very easy cleaning, although the outside does mark easily. The glass in the oven doors is specially built so that it does not heat up, which is a very useful safety measure as it means inquisitive children won’t burn their fingers if they touch it, but it is still easy to see inside the oven at what you are making.
On top of all of this, both oven compartments carry an energy efficiency rating of A — good for the planet as you’re not using excess energy, but good for you as using so little energy keeps the electricity bills low.
All-in-all, there is very little to fault with the Hotpoint DHS53CX. It has plenty of space, plenty of heat, and is easy to control and maintain, a very smart appliance.
