Feeling smug about your Dell XPS system equipped with two 512MB 7800GTXs? Well the smile will be wiped off your face when you see Dell’s new XPS machine. Designed exclusively for Dell by nVidia, this XPS features a simply awesome quad-SLI system. That’s four GeForce 7800 GTX cards running together in one system.
Gulp.

The eagle-eyed will have noticed that the Dell XPS system is hooked up to Dell’s new 30in display announced at the show with an incredible native resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels.
Just to remind you, that’s four 7800 GTX’s in one box. Woh!

nVidia also announced that it’s forthcoming driver will add hardware support for H.264 decoding on its 6 and 7 series of cards. Clearly this is a response to ATI’s recent impressive AVIVO announcement. Isn’t it great what competition can do to get companies to improve their own products?
