But I-RAM wasn’t the only little surprise that Gigabyte had, in fact it was part of a trilogy – given, if the trilogy was Star Wars four, five and six, I-RAM would be Empire Strikes Back, since it’s far and away the best of the three, but the other two have certain merit too.

I-TOUCH is Gigabyte’s attempt to bring biometric security to its platforms - and has most in common with Star Wars. I-TOUCH sits in a 3.5in drive bay and sports the obligatory fingerprint scanner, as well as two USB 2.0 ports, a six-pin FireWire port, a mic socket and a headphone socket.

Interestingly though, the I-Touch doesn’t simply lock your PC down whenever you scan your finger, it’s a little more versatile than that. With I-Touch you can lock specific applications on your computer, or even just protect sensitive files or folders.
