Fujitsu Siemens had a press briefing to reveal a new entertainment notebook as part of its Amilo range, boasting pretty full-on specs. It powered by an Intel Centrino technology, with a Pentium M processor, and wireless LAN. The machine has a 17in screen with a resolution of 1,440 x 900. if that’s not enough , Fujitsu promised that a a version boasting true-HD capability (1,920 x 1,200 resolution) will be available later in the year.

This display features Crystal View technology, giving a high contrast colourful display, similar to Sony’s X-Black. The machine will be good for games with a powerful GeForce 6800 GO chip, and 256MB of RAM.

The machine will ship with Windows Media Center software as an option but will not be MCE certified as it will not ship with a tuner as standard. This is to avoid a tax on TV capable devices in the European Union that would add 14 per cent to the cost. Instead a digital tuner will be available as an option though Fujitsu said it was still in discussions as to who it would partner with for this. It would ship though with a remote control and InstantOn functionality.

Other specs include an optional second hard disk in the machine in RAID 0 or RAID 1 configuration for performance or security.
