Another member of the Gigastyle family is the Gigashot. This digital camera will shoot MPEG2 video and digital stills and record them to the internal hard disk. The Gigashot is the first product to make use of Toshiba’s new 0.85in hard disks.

The Gigashot will be available with resolutions up to 5megapixel, so your still images should be as good as your video. Toshiba also stated that you’ll be able to shoot still images while you’re shooting video.

With a 4GB hard disk installed you’ll be able to shoot about two hours of MPEG2 video. Toshiba had no pricing available for the Gigashot, but a launch date in Autumn 2005 is expected.
