Good review I thought and the verdict was succint.
What I don't understand though with this product (and some car radios) is the need for a remote control ?

@ Tony: Yes but isn't it better than the 234-pixel vertical resolution that some other portables go for? And you don't really miss those 96 lines anyway.

2 headphone sockets is ok, but it can only go on one seat so no good for two little ones trying to watch it - what about a display out to plug another screen in?

And I thought Philips was a European company.
Supplying this with a 480 pixel vertical resolution these days for a 576 pixel European market is appalling. 7" screens are available in 1024 x 600 size so a slightly thicker bevel and you even avoid on-screen bars.
Maybe Philips are going to let you get a free Region 1 copy of your DVD so you can watch it at the correct resolution?
