I'm not sure making a DVD player resemble an electric hob is the greatest design decision in history.

Would be nice to have a picture showing the tray opened so that one could gauge how big the player is without resorting to looking up the dimensions. Or perhaps an image showing the player and remote along side a DVD disc? The video reviews are always very helpful in getting an idea of the size of something because you get to see the item in someone's hands.

@Andy H
I am guessing it is a slot loading drive. Although with an image of course would be better so we could see just how wide it was

Looks tray loading to me... You can just about make out the tray outline.
See the edge on image at: http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/detail/gallery.do?group=homeentertainment&type=dvd&subtype=standarddvdplayer&model_cd=DVD-H1080/XEU
Hope it helps those interested above...

The article does actually mention a tray on page 1: "The disc tray below is so slim you barely notice it".

Well done Samsung for making the effort.
But, why does the remote look so rubbish? This is part of the user experience - in fact you'd probably see the remote more than the player!!

Yes it is a tray loader and the dimensions are 265(w) x 248(d) x 52.5(h)mm to save anyone else looking it up

Looks really tasty but I can't help but think it would be perfect if it had a little get together with a Western Digital WD TV HD set, and had little off-spring. Chuck a Blue-Ray drive in there and add an Ethernet port and Wireless draft N and maybe a 1TB HD just for good measure - all in that same sleek body. We have a Winner!
(might buy one anyway:))
