Not doubting the Panasonic's quality, but when will this be available in the UK? If the BD50 / BD55 fiasco is anything to go by, then don't hold your breath.

Chances are they'll announce the BD65 in a few weeks time before the BD60 even reaches the shop - this is exactly what happenned with the BD50 / BD55.

So here's keeping our fingers crossed and hope they actually deliver it soon ....

I am/was looking at the BD55.....but I might hold off for the BD60 now....plus saving a good amount means I can get the Panasonic SA BX500 AV Receiver I'm after. Sounds like the suppliers can't get hold certain electrical goods so quickly since this recession began.

Quote from the review:
"... although when running at 24fps camera pans still aren't completely judder-free on our 1080/24p compatible TV."
Are you using an LCD? Most LCDs still have this problem, in which case judder is often not produced by the source/player. Any details on that?

Hi everyone,
This might sound noob, but I really need to know it...
I know this Blu-Ray player only has Analog Stereo Output, but that
doesn't mean it can't output, for example 5.1 through the Optical Cable, right?
Thanks.

@TiagoCT,
I had the same concern like you when the BD60 appeared but after downloading and reading the manual it seemed that it should work.
Now the BD60 has arrived and connected with with a (optical) Toslink cable to my (older) Yamaha 5.1 AV system it works like a dream, perfect 5.1 sound. Even the Dolby TrueHD soundtracks can be played.

@HenkM
Hi and thanks for helping me! Knowing what you just told me makes
me belive that spending extra money on the BD80 is not worth it
since it can output 5.1 audio through the optical cable.
Thanks a lot!

Yes you can connect via optical to give 5.1, however, I am certain that Dolby TrueHD nor DTS HD can pass over optical and they must either go via HDMI or analogue ( which the BD60 doesn't have but the BD80 does). HenkM I think what you are hearing will be the downsampled version of the TrueHD track and will just be Dolby 5.1. The only way to get the BD60 to play High Def sound is therefore by connecting to your amp via HDMI, if your amp doesn't have this and you want HD sound then this is not the player for you

Hi Peter,
I think I won't have that problem because the Optical can Output both Bitstream and PCM.
PCM is the "raw" format of an audio file. It's also known as WAV. It can be played
directly without decoding, meaning that all the decoding of the audio being it TrueHD or whatever is made inside the Player.
I apreciate the concern, though and thank you! :)

Hi...
I'd like to know if it is possible to have access to the Internet using devices connected to USB interface in the BD60 or just through the RJ45 interface ???

Thanks in advance for any help.

Regards,

Gilson
