I've been having issues with my PVR9200 for the last few months - there is apparently a known issue if units arent kept in standby all the time - hard disk errors. Mine has been "fixed" once and has gone wrong again - I've been offered a replacement "factory grade" unit which may or may not have had a functional fault and no extension on my warranty so only a couple of months to see if it will go wrong again.
You cannot rely on being able to keep programs indefinitely - I have now lost programs I wanted to keep twice so far

Having read the great reviews this PVR has had I bought one. I was very happy with it apart from the loud hum. It broke down 9 months later. It has been 2 months now trying to get any responce from Humax. Don't email the cusomer services-they do not respond. If you phone you have to wait at least 15 minutes on an 0870 (10p per min) number before anyone responds. Eventually they sent a replacement-a refurbished scratched one that would not even switch on! Will never buy a Humax product again.

I have had a PVR9200t for some time a Great Machine, lost all recordings once early on, re-booted and has been fine since. I also have single tuner PVR8000t which I only use very occasionally now, so is not on permanent standby but still works fine every time. I would look at Humax again if I was looking to upgrade in ther future.

I have had myPVR 92oot for nearly 2years and it has been superb, but now with the digital changeover I cannot get the BBC channels at all. Can anyone help please it appears the signal is not strong enough even with a brand new aerial and booster.

Hi Ingrid
I had the same problem, until I discovered that the channels have moved - look in the channels numbered around 800 - hopefully ,like mine they will be there!

Great article but I am totally new to PVR's, being a VHS person. Have read a lot but still do not know if they will be suitable for my viewing. We often stop part way through a program and watch following day. Will PVR's pick up from where I left it or can I go quickly through when starting again? If I have say 20 hours of programming recorded how can I archive the one I want, are they stored in date order?
Is the 9300 series that much better than the 9200 and worth the extra?
Many thanks
