Pioneer Announces SC-LX72, SC-LX82 AV Receivers

Pioneer's AV Receiver range - it of the impressive VSX-LX51 AV receiver - is to be extended somewhat come September, when the SC-LX82 (top) SC-LX72 (bottom) launch.

Both offer an intimidating feature set. Starting with the unsurprising, there's Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master audio decoding, DLNA audio streaming and internet radio access, and Class D amplification. 1080p up-scaling is offered on both amps, along with 24p support - as you would no doubt expect. Five HDMI inputs and two outputs should prove more than sufficient.

Both receivers have 'Advanced Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration' which will adjust speaker output to suit the installation environment. Should the SC-LX82 or SC-LX72 be used with Pioneer's BDP-LX52 Blu-ray player then the clock speeds of the two devices can be locked together using Pioneer's PQLS technology (whereby the receiver controls the internal clock of both devices) reducing jitter.
iPod and iPhone compatibility is also boasted, via the same USB port as will accept a storage device, from which media files can be played. Pioneer's suggests its 'Advanced Sound Retriever' can help restore detail to lossy formats, such as MP3, while 'Auto Level Control' will - as the name rather hints - normalise the receivers' output volume across tracks.
