On its debut on the Hitwise rankings, TrustedReviews has grabbed the top position in the UK "Computers and Internet - Electronics" category for 2008. The rankings, based on over 8 million Internet users' measure websites' traffic in more than 50 industries to give an indication of market share, so coming top in its category on its first time being ranked by Hitwise is pretty good going for the site.

As the rankings show, TrustedReviews isn't exactly against light competition beating both Sony and Packard Bell into second and third place respectively. We also grabbed third place in the "Computers and Internet - Hardware" category for 2008, falling only behind Apple and Dell!
TrustedReviews' General Manager, Niall Clarkson, commented: "This ranking is testament to the popularity amongst consumers and business users of TrustedReviews' comprehensive, free, expert product reviews and news and the important role independent advice plays in a buyer's decision making process." Editor in Chief, Riyad Emeran, added: "2008 was a tough year, but TrustedReviews managed to grow stronger than ever. This Hitwise award, coupled with our positive ABCe result shows that in hard times consumers are even more likely to look for impartial and trustworthy advice before purchasing."
These results add to the report by ABCe that 2,456,783 unique users are reading 13,708,776 pages on TrustedReviews each month.
All going well, a similar announcement will come next year!
