it just goes to show that the BBC is cutting edge and for being the leader worldwide on things like this we get value from the TV licence fee, just need to stop radio 1 dj's putting white powder up thier noses on ibiza etc at the licence payers expense. p.s. BBC please give me a password or something to access iplayer when I'm working abroad, I'm a licence payer who is the only occupant of my house so I pay for nothing for months on end !.

Hopefully C4 and ITV also have on-demand services in the works for Freesat too. If they do I can see me switching to Freesat if my current Virgin package increases in price, when my current contract expires in June.

Lets get this straight - Freesat boxes will allow you to plug in an ethernet cable and watch iplayer on line? Does this make the satellite dish optional? Any word on ordinary freeview recorders getting this function?
BTW there seems to be a bit of a tendency of iPlayer announcing things which then disappear again. i.e. what happened to the series recording function? http://www.trustedreviews.com/multimedia/news/2008/08/27/Series-Stacking-Comes-To-iPlayer/p1
