I REALLY wanted this to happen for such a long time! I have just bought a 1TB drive last weekend because of running out of space- AGAIN! I hope this service will allow us to buy a film or tv show, then give us the option to download or stream it an unlimited amount of times afterwards (so in effect that film or show is ours to keep- it's just that Apple's servers are holding it for us). Now HD tv shows are finally emerging in the UK iTunes store, this is an ideal time for this streaming service to begin. Especially now that I am on O2 broadband, which does NOT cap your speeds if you download more than 1GB within certain times of the day (*cough* virginmedia *cough*).
This could work as an excellent service. Storage is the one thing I am most concerned about with regards to downloading video content. Now that could be a thing of the past. This could also mean we may even be able to purchase HD films as well as tv shows, and just stream when needed- again saving valuable HDD space.
Can't wait!

Please, TR, no more Apple speculation. You are a strongly authoritative site with good kudos and great journalists. Leave the Apple rumour mill to the fanboy sites and stick with news, analysis and comment. You don't give daily rumours about other hardware and software vendors so why Apple? By the way, this plea is from someone who earns his living from Apple hardware and software. I visit the Apple rumour and news sites daily but no more expect this drivel from you than I do from New Scientist or Byte (RIP).

In my (our?) defence, I try to filter the interesting stuff out for those of our readership that don't visit Apple Insider and Mac Rumours regularly, if at all. You're not the only reader you know :)

Moreover, the stories are hardly daily and we do report on other rumours to, for example the rumour that Nvidia ION systems will be released in Q2 this year, written just today - http://www.trustedreviews.com/graphics/news/2009/02/12/Nvidia-ION-hitting-Desktops-Q2/p1
