Denon DVD-A1UD Blu-ray Player Delayed

With little an explanation as to exactly why, Denon has delayed the launch of its DVD-A1UD Blu-ray player by a couple of months. Denon cites behind-schedule production as the cause of the delay, although what that means is unclear. Mayhap one of Denon's parts suppliers is among the many which has proved unable to survive the recession.

That means would-be buyers will have to wait yet longer to get their hands on the player, capable of handing not only Blu-ray discs but also DVDs, DivX content, CDs and SACDs. Not to mention MP3, WMA and JPEG file support and Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding.
Considering that huge cost of the player (some £4,000 at the current exchange rate) it seems unlikely Denon would be anticipating large orders. Indeed, the kind of customer looking to invest that much money in a player will probably be none too perturbed by the relatively small extra wait to get their mitts on a DVD-A1UD.
