Having introduced a slew of new Blu-ray players in the US March, Pioneer has now refreshed its European line-up again. Four players, the BDP-LX91, BDP-LX08, BDP-LX71 and BDP-51FD (one of those from March) will be winging their ways over to UK shores before too long.

All four players offer 1080p playback, including 24pfs True Cinema content. 12-bit HDMI outputs, for Deep Colour support are also featured across the board and Wolfson DACs provide high quality playback of both Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio.

The BDP-LX91 is BD Live (a.k.a profile 2.0) compatible while the other players are merely Profile 1.1 compliant. In real terms that shouldn't make too much difference to most users, but if you want all the features Blu-ray discs are starting to offer, you'll be paying a premium for them.

Coupled with Kuro plasma TVs the players are pre-calibrated to tweak their outputs to provide the best video quality possible, using a special Kuro mode. Pricing isn't mentioned, but Pioneer says the BDP-LX71 will be available first, in September. Then the BDP-51FD and the BDP-LX08 will arrive in October followed by the BDP-LX91 "in [the] winter".
