Guitar Hero: World Tour Deals

As a single player game I think GH3 is a lot better than WT. The progression through GH3 is better, and the it has higher replay value in that each difficultly needs completely separately, where as that isn't the case for WT. I also think for a guitarist, the track list is a lot better on GH3 than WT.

Good points, and I think GH3 is always going to be a favourite with the more hardcore GH fanbase for those reasons. However, I think World Tour's far smoother difficulty curve, superior note placement and broader tracklist makes it the stronger game. I know we don't get Dragonforce, Knights of Cydonia and Cliffs of Dover, but Hot for Teacher, Beat It and the new tracks from Satriani, Muse, Hendrix and Dream Theatre - not to mention the classic Ozzy/Randy Rhoads tracks - make up for it. I'm not hardcore in anyway, I only got GH3 about 2 months ago, and have only just started dabbling in hard mode. We also only really got WT for more tunes and another compatible guitar. I'm more into my dance music than rock and I guess maybe that is why I prefer GH3 as a lot of the songs were either totally new to me, or ones I know I like, where as WT has a lot of, I think, average tunes to play on (that aren't that challenging to play). The same goes for my female housemate, and she is by no means a gamer (she plays GH and Wii bowling). That said, the difficulty curve on GH3 is a joke.
