Available on Android, iOS, Windows, Mac and Linux
Copy is another cloud storage provider with excellent cross device support. It has apps for Android, iOS, Windows, Mac and Linux that allow you to view and share all your files across multiple platforms, all in a nice secure environment thanks to its AES-256-SHA encryption.
Copy’s apps follow a very similar design to Dropbox and, while it doesn’t provide a means for native editing, it does offer a few neat features.
Once such feature is what Copy refers to as “Fair Storage”. Simply put, you can share folders between any number of people without any size limits (depending on your storage package) and, rather than the owner of the folder fronting their storage for everyone else, Copy splits the bill between every user using that folder. For example; a 20GB folder shared between four people only takes up 5GB of space from each persons account.
Copy also allows you to migrate cloud storage from other services. So if you want to move your Dropbox account to Copy, you can do so with ease. There is a slight drawback though, and that is you can only migrate up to 2GB for free, any more and you’ll have to pay for it.
What you get:
Copy’s app is available for free and comes packaged with 15GB of space. You can, however, get an extra 5GB by simply joining through a referral link. If someone has asked you to sign up then do it, as you and the referrer will both benefit. You can then go on to refer a further five people to get an additional 5GB for yourself. After that you can expect to pay $9.99 (£6.26) per month for 250GB of space or $14.99 (£9.40) for 500GB, which is quite pricey.
