This tablet seems to have a rather strange history:

I suspect you misheard him slightly, the notification drawer is Heartbeat not hardbit! It's on their Grid OS website as Heartbeat as well! :-)

Looks like a good tablet, certainly the first to try something different which is always good!

Aw yes, lost in translation, I'm afraid. Heartbeat is certainly a more apt title for this feature. Cheers for pointing out our error.

This is not the CrunchPad in a different form. The CrunchPad was subsequently launched as the JooJoo back in 2010 (even before the iPad launched in fact) and rather sunk without trace. Indeed Chandra told us that anyone who purchased a JooJoo would be able to get a free Grid10, which is nice of them.

Interesting to say the least, I definitely want to have a look at that tablet.

Yes the 'hardbit' is getting apps on it.

I heard that the Amazon appstore won't be available at launch, although it was in a comment on another site so I can't swear to it.

@Bugblatter I asked Chandra that very question when I met with Fusion Garage and he said that while the App Store won't come pre-installed as standard, all you will have to do is follow a link to install it. I saw it running on the Grid10 they showed me and it seemed to be working as normal.

If the pricing is what it is now, that's not surprising. A quick Google the JoJo appears to be £700 second hand, and £1000 new.

At £259 this one might fair better, I rather like the new interface too. But looking at some of the Video's on YouTube the interface seems to suffer, eg. it sometimes seems to takes multiple swipes before it registers, hopefully a bug they can fix later.
