The 7600 GT wasn't ever supposed to transpose to the AGP platform, so I was surprised when this card from Leadtek landed on my desk. Considering the chip inside the 7600 GS and GT is identical, then I suppose in theory it shouldn't be too hard.

To look at, the card is incredibly similar to the Inno3D 7600 GS, probably due to the use of the same bridge chip. But if you look closely, you will see that the PCBs are completely different. The Inno3D card has an nVidia stamp on it, which I assume means it is a reference design, while the Leadtek PCB seems to have been designed in-house.

As mentioned, the GPU is identical, which means five vertex shaders, 12 pixel pipelines and eight pixel output engines. The core speed differs though, running at 560MHz (160MHz above the 7600 GS), which is the same as the PCI Express variant. The memory is GDDR3, and runs at 700MHz (1,400MHz effective). Both these clock speeds are considerably higher than the 7800 GS, but the 7800 GS has a 256-Bit memory interface, and more active pipelines. This should balance things out a little.

Included with the card is a copy of Serious Sam II, PowerDVD 6, muvee 3, and a special edition of Trackmania Nations which has an extra 20 levels. Also included is a DVI to D-SUB converter, and a breakout cable for the TV Out, that gives S-Video as well as component outputs. Just like the rest of the cards on test, it has a single DVI port as well as a D-SUB connector.
