Nvidia's ION platform boasts GPU-accelerated 1080p decoding
i look forward to this (platform) being reviewed and proven over a range of codecs and containers. Much GPU acceleration is fraght with issues from my perspective.
If it works then this will be a nice, tiny, sweeeeet HTPC.

The demo systems won't go on sale, they're way way too expensive to make as the two tier PCB design is complex and is made from a 10 layer PCB which is expensive. Expect to see systems using a single mini-ITX motherboards based on a six layer PCB when the first systems ship. Optical drives are also likely to be added, making for larger systems.
The GPU acceleration will be just as good as it is on the Geforce 9400 chipset, so go find a review of that chipset and you'll know how good the acceleration is.
There will be netbooks with an N-series Atom and the 9400M, but desktops will be first.
