There’s a little known saying in the PC industry that goes: “If, as nVidia’s Head of Developer Relations, you wish to keep your blog running, do not tell the public your partners products cost too much.” Not particularly catchy, but I bet Roy Taylor, also head of The Way It's Meant To Be Played scheme, wishes he paid it some heed. Although I’m sure that nVidia executives were more than pleased Roy recent defence of DirectX 10 and its implementation in recent games on his blog, they can’t have been too pleased when, at the same time, he spoke out against some producers of high-end systems.

According to sources at the Inquirer these manufacturers weren't too happy with Roy's claims that the idea of needing a $3,000 PC to play the latest and greatest DirectX 10 games is a fallacy and it isn't hard to see why; this is exactly what those companies want you to believe. Why nVidia chose to respond pulling the entire blog when it has been a huge boost to its PR recently is beyond human comprehension me. Hopefully this is a temporary measure while Roy gets a rap on the knuckles before coming back, albeit with more restrain over his personal opinions.
