Matrox’s Dual and TripleHead2Go monitor expansion hardware has been incredibly well received since they debuted in November and April respectively and now they’ve both been given significant upgrades.

Dealing with the flagship model first, the TripleHead2Go (which Benny loved) now has support for additional resolutions, including wide aspect ratio resolutions of 3840 x 720 and 3840 x 768, which will allow users working with widescreen flat panels or plasma screens to use the product. Triplehead support at 3072 x 768 also has an 85Hz refresh rate giving gamers using CRT monitors an uncompromising opportunity for full ‘Surround Gaming’.

In addition DualHead support with a combined resolution of 2560 x 1024 and 3360 x 1050, allows users to run the Matrox TripleHead2Go in dual-display configuration. This means if someone is more suited to working with two displays, they can now have the option to upgrade to three without having to purchase a new unit. Highly nifty.

As for the DualHead2Go itself (which Riyad went gooey for), Matrox has expanded its support to make it compatible with nVidia and ATI based add-in boards and most laptops based on Intel, ATI and nVidia integrated graphics. An upgraded DualHead2Go System Compatibility Tool has been released so potential customers can validate their computers prior to purchase. It can be nabbed here.

Now if someone will just buy me a few spare flat screens LCDs and a couple of plasmas I’ll happily go out and get one of these and hook them up…
