PNY Technologies has announced that that it will release the Verto GeForce 6800 GT in July. The card, as you might have guessed, is based on nVidia’s GeForce 6800 GT GPU.
The most significant feature is that it will offer a full 16 pixel-pipeline architecture. With a suggested retail price of £299 including VAT, the card is set to give ATi’s 12-pipe X800 Pro a real run for its money. The card will sport a GPU clock speed of 350MHz, a 500MHZ memory clock (1GHz effective), and a full 256-bit memory interface.
But lower clock speeds aside, the GPU sports the same features as the GeForce 6800 Ultra, including 256MB of GDDR3 memory. Other features include CineFX 3.0, for increased programmability, Intellisample 3.0 for improved anti-aliasing, and UltraShadow II for enhanced shadow rendering performance.

PNY will be sweetening its offer by including a full version of Far Cry, a game that with its sumptuous visuals, will really show this new nVidia chipset off.
The TV-out capable card, will also be bundled with an S-Video cable and a DVI to D-SUB converter.
If the performance of the nVidia GeForce 6800 GT turns out to be as impressive as the specifications would indicate, ATi will have to pull something out of its hat to compete.
We’ve got a reference board based on the GeForce 6800 GT in the test labs right now, so be sure to check back for a full review very soon.
