Yes of course it is the best racing simulator ever

"GT6 might have a chance of upsetting the Microsoft competition"...

Really? GT2 only sold 9.3 million. It was the only main GT release to sell under 10 mil; Forza games have sold 10 mil...all combined. In fact, how many racing games in history have gone diamond? You're bogus Stuart!

no...they wont - it will require completely different coding of the game (the main reason GT5 took so long to appear on PS3 to begin with) - you may end up being able to get it through GaiKai on PS4 but that will likely be around the same time as the GT7 release.

Can't wait

You will wait forever and still wouldn't happen.

The great thing is this will beat those games in new gen even though the hardware is six years old.

Quantity doesn't equal Quality.

I have never even seen any of Forza, but then again, i have only been buying and using Pc games for fifteen years, and only have 150+ PS3 games.

Maybe Forza will be out on Pc one day?

Yup. GT7 in 2014.

December 6, 2013, 1:37 pm

In the 4th para - "...GT5 is better looking than GT6...". Should that not be the other way round?!

December 6, 2013, 7:17 pm

Yay, micro-transactions in a single player game. Jeez, how things changed from GT1...

December 8, 2013, 11:01 am

I think GT4 had menus that were clean and not "confusing".

"Not as thrilling or competitive as Forza 4 and 5"

Well thats because FM4/5 are arcade racing games. While Granturismo is a semi simulation game.

I played FM5 with a wheel and its light on the handling little to no feedback while driving a car. Forza is made for the xbox controller not for a wheel.

GT6 on the other hand with a wheel it feels heavy and solid and there is a lot of feedback from the car.

So please stop comparing the GT to Forza, both are completely different games.
Compare Forza to Grid or NFS. And compare GT for rFactor and Assetta Corsa.

If Kazonori Yamauchi wants to see the game evolve to what he's envisioned in his head, he needs to get a bigger (read: faster) development team and launch GT series on PC - where simulation enthusiasts go for the most authentic gaming experience.

Not really. GT4 was the one game that had the world map - you had to move the map across the screen to find what you wanted. The others have at the least had screens covering the whole thing.

GT6 has been such a let down...I gave it a try because I gave away my
old Logitech wheel (used for rFactor and GTR2) and I wanted a driving

It's true that the graphics are better, and the handling seem slightly improved (but far from realistic) but there are too many issues:

Sounds of car are horrible. I purchased the Z4 E89 GT3 racer because it's one of the best sounding race car ever:

In GT6 it sounds like the usual vacuum cleaner. Actually the car also handles horribly!

I won't mention the tyres screeching.

also extremely unhappy with the game mechanics. The IA is usually very slow, but sometimes it gets unnaturally quick, like in the driving mission with the Miura against the Murcielago. At first you can catch it very easily (which shouldn't as the other car is much faster) but then it suddenly gets quicker at will...you can actually get a gold and still arrive 2nd!

The IA is also extremely stupid or dishonest as it makes you spin without a reason more often than not.

What's up with all the races starting in last and having to catch up the 1st...never heard of qualifying? I could understand if all the races were designed to start with an "inverted grid" but it's not like that, as the IAs rarely pass each other and the slower car al always last.

The menu are SO slow, it're really tedious.

The online part seems to have been improved a bit.

I'll probably end up getting a new wheel and play something like Assetto Corsa on the PC.

The Real Driving Sim, that slogan is this time to much honor. I was a big fan of the GT series, but the first online event here in GT6 they blew it. Driving a high tech Mercedes AMG-CGT on the Matterhorn with cheap shitty sport tires?? Come on, please don't be riduculous. I wanna race on this mountain with soft race tires for maximum grip and speed. Now it's like pushing a cleaningcar of a housemaid. That has nothing to do with racing. It is undoable with a handcontroller. I am very very disapointed, because the second online race is also shit.

Biggest disappointment of the GT series and a blatant move to ripping the users off with in game purchases of game money. The seasonal events that were good sources of income to buy your dream car are now all time trials so one off rewards and not that good. GT6 top prizes £250K vs GT5 prizes of £1M. I find "free" apps annoying enough when you can't get anywhere without having to buy a pack of something, but when you have paid £50+ for a game you don't expect the developer to be pulling the same stunts, especially when there is nothing new or innovative in this version and it doesn't even run on a PS4 so the improved graphics don't really shine.

We were left hanging for the full release of GT with the prologue release keeping us hooked and the wait was worthwhile. I never left my racing seat for month when it came out. GT6 has barely been touched as all that has been done a re a few tweaks. We have actually lost stuff from GT5 in that you no longer have B spec drivers. I've kept my PS3 specifically for GT6 so I guess it will now be going on Ebay to pay for the PS4 games.
