The result of one object in 3D space preventing all or part of another from being seen.

A rather grand name for Hidden Surface Removal.

A process whereby editing is performed without the original source material, before the EDL is transferred to an online editing system.

An edit that’s performed with all the assets (video, images, audio etc.) on the system.

On Screen Display. A graphical interface where the user selects controls that affect the screens’ picture parameters. Access is usually via the buttons on the front of the monitor.

The region of video that exceeds the display area of a TV – around ten per cent.
