A slang term used to describe the appearance of jagged lines on parts of a scene that have not been anti-aliased.

Small picture disturbance or noise seen around fine detail.

Joint Photographic Experts Group. Most common image file format used by digital cameras and on the web. Employs permanently lossy compression, but at a user-variable level.
