Gigbeat Android App review

Although Songkick has an app available for the iPhone, the company hasn’t gotten around to launching one for Android. In the meantime Songkick fans can turn to Gigbeat, because it uses the Songkick API to delivers similar content. The app scans the tunes you have stored on your phone to find the artists that you like, and then shows you upcoming gigs for your favourite bands.

You can also enter your Songkick and Last.fm login details to give it further clues as to what kind of artists you're into. Once it has a handle on your music tastes you can check out gigs that your favourite bands are playing locally, view individual pages for each artists or just see a complete list of gigs coming up in your area.

Verdict

The user interface could be better, but Gigbeat provides a decent way to keep informed about upcoming gigs.
