The PSPs Go! branded services, such as the Go!Cam still and video camera and Go!Messenger IM client are about to have their number bolstered by a further service, arguably the most intriguing yet. Coming under the name of Go!View, the new service is a joint operation with Sky, bringing the latter's broadcastings to the PlayStation Portable. Admittedly when first announced as in development in July last year we were told to expect a proper launch in "early 2008" but we won't begrudge Sony a few months.

Now scheduled for summer release, Go!View will deliver Sky content to PSPs via PCs. Users will be able to access programmes either on a subscription or pay-per-view basis. Further, registration on Sky's website will be required, allowing access to content that has been paid for.

No information yet as to whether existing Sky customers will be able to use this service in addition to their extant subscription, or in any additional cost will be applicable to extend viewing onto the PSP. Neither has any pricing structure yet been announced for non Sky subscribers.

Roll on "summer" then!
