There are few releases which warrant a news story of their own, Halo 3 being a notable example, but Gears of War on the PC is definitely joins those elite ranks. With over four million copies sold on the Xbox 360 since its release roughly a year ago. Obviously my first instinct is simply to suggest that you stop reading this and go buy it but, then again, if I have to tell you that then you probably shouldn't be playing the game anyway.

When, and it is when, you do pick up your PC copy of the game you'll find a few nice enhancements over the 360 version, not least of which is a lower price for more content. Speaking of which, if Epic's Mark Rein is to be believed you'll find around 20 per cent more content in the PC version, including what promises to be a truly awesome fight with a monster known as the Brumack which you see, but don't battle in the 360 version.

In fact, the only snag with the PC version is that if you want to play online without paying a subscription to the Windows Live games service you'll end up having a slightly crippled experience. Still, it's a minor detail and isn't going to detract from the truly brilliant single player experience one iota. To reiterate: buy it now!
