Duke Nukem "December"?

It had to happen, didn’t it? If there’s been one first person shooter that has taken longer and been even more hotly anticipated than Half Life 2, it is Duke Nukem Forever. Could it finally be about to see the light of day?

According to Amazon UK, the answer is yes. At the time of this article, it has just put up a page saying “This item will be release on December 2, 2005”. Apart from the wonky format the Yanks have of writing dates on its English site, this pretty much spells it out. If true, it also rather neatly shafts the infamously silent design team who have a strict policy of stating “It’s ready, when it’s ready”.
Of course, as we saw time and time again with the Sony PSP, dates are liable to change, but it does seem Amazon is the last company you’ve ever want to spill a secret too. It has a Duke of Edinburgh-like knack of splurging out information.
You can just imagine how the conversation with Take 2 Interactive began:
Take 2: “So we think *looks cautiously over shoulder* that... well, *whisper* 2 December looks promising.”
Amazon: ”DECEMBER 2, YOU SAY...”
So fingers crossed and, incidentally, was Duke Nukem always ginger?
