Got your eye on a next generation console? Want to know how long you’ve got to save up? Well, it seems almost certain that if the Xbox 2 (or Xbox 360 as it has also been mooted) is your potential weapon of choice you’ve only got until late October/early November. So get saving.

Naturally, these dates have not been officially confirmed by Microsoft but it seems every Xbox 2 software developer under the sun is keen to leak it to the press today, so there you go.

In other news, keen gamers amongst you will be pleased to learn that EA has pulled off a bit of a coupe in securing the vocal talents of every major actor involved in the upcoming Batman Returns summer blockbuster movie directed by Christopher Nolan for its licensed video game.

Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne/Batman), Michael Caine (Alfred Pennyworth), Liam Neeson (Henri Ducard), Katie Holmes (Rachel Dawes), Cillian Murphy (Dr. Jonathan Crane), Tom Wilkinson (Carmine Falcone) and Morgan Freeman (Lucius Fox) all reprise their roles for the third person action title in what has to be the biggest cast of stars ever to appear on a software title.

Early shots of the game look promising and with titles licensed from films and film characters improving vastly in recent times (mostly notably with The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay) our hopes for the Caped Crusader are high. Random fact: Batman is known in Sweden as Läderlappen, which translates as piece of leather. Enjoy your weekends.
