U2 Ipod and next gen Ipid

Im not interested in getting a U2 Ipod but I was interested in reading that its thought a new edition ipod may be coming soon!

Obviously apple are very tightlipped about any new releases and when they happen but how long do people think itll be before the new one comes out? I was about ready to get a new ipod but if the new ones coming out soon then Ill definatly wait!

(please o please let it have a large touchscreen and 802.11g wireless like I read somewhere!!)

Hi Stelph,

No one (apart from Apple itself) knows precisely when the next generation iPod is coming, but based on the fact that the current generation has been out for eight months - and I don't think a single iPod generation has lasted more than a year - it seems relatively safe to assume something is due before too long.

Besides, when a company starts putting out the 'limited editions' of any particular model you know it is simply trying to get money for old rope.

In addition, so many players are now surpassing the current generation iPod in terms of features and performance that I think Apple realises something needs to be done... hopefully the large touchscreen model will be next but I feel a half way solution is more likely with the really killer arrivingthe generation after that.

Interesting article on the leak about the next generation ipod not being touchscreen, id would guess that the major improvements would be making it thinner and possibly having Wifi or bluetooth inbuilt.....

itunes sync over wifi would be useful, if a little gimicky
