I'm sure you can always use another 2GB memory card though? It is an Extreme III after all. Have to agree about the weather; I've got cameras I need to test!

OOps, didnt notice the card aswell. I've got a 1gb Extreme III, contemplating a 4gb one now that prices are good.

Think I would be too greedy entering this, plus the fact my photography sucks at present.

Yes, you can enhance the appearance of your photos in any way you want, including making composite images. Just as long as you use your own photos as starting images; it is a photography competition after all...

I'd draw the line before images that are created entirely using Adobe(tm) Photoshop(tm) Image(tm) Editing(tm) Software(tm).

Nice idea Cliff - already seems to have generated a lot of interest. One point - quote

"the image file size may be no larger than 3.0 megabytes"

I think you need to be a bit more specific and state maximum pixel dimensions and format. Maybe something like

maximum image dimension (width or hight) 2400 pixels (although 1600 should suffice)
File format JPEG
maximum file size 3.0 megabytes (maybe even 1MB - if 1600 dimension)

Yeah, but Cliffs way, you can have whatever dimensions you want, but if you want a larger (dimension) image, your going to have to sacrifice quality. It's all about compromises!

I was originally going to go with both 2400 x 2400 and 3MB size limits, but Riyad said to just have the file size limit.

Fair enough - once the rules are announced then they should be fixed.

Does the photo have to be taken for the contest or can we use photos we already have?

As long as it's your own photo, I don't think it matters when it was taken.

I just took a look for my current selection and found one that sort of matched the theme....

If I take a better shot between now and the deadline can I send in a replacement entry?

Are you going to display only the winning entry, or some runners up? Or some that you just happened to like? If not, perhaps we should put a smaller version of our pictures in this thread.

I'm going to enter this, as it is a bit different from the bit's so i would enter two different photos for the two compos

I was planning to post a feature with the best shots, 'honourable mentions' if you like, plus the winning picture as soon as possible after the closing date. It may take a while to judge them, since we've already had quite a few entries, most of them very good (yours included, I might add) and there's nearly six weeks to go yet.

As a joke obviously, not a serious entry - it doesn't fit the theme
