In a recent episode (I’ll try not to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t yet seen it), Chloe is approached by a guy in a bar while working on her laptop. Impressed by the machine, this dude asks her what model it is to which she answers, “CTU, Type 4”. Now is that code for a Dell Precision? Back at CTU you can’t move for Dell product placement, but when it came to the crunch they chicken out! CTU Type 4 – per-lease. We know how it works- we all saw Series four. Goodies Dell, Baddies Alienware.

I love the fact that in a recent episode Chloe tells Bill Buchanan that’s she going to hook up her laptop to his desktop computer, “even if it is a bit crappy”. Even under extreme pressure, she’s still got time to diss lame hardware. What a geek.

Forgot all the tech though, what I’m most impressed about is Jack's bag. That ruddy satchel- he takes it everywhere. In the early episodes of season 5 it seemed to contain everything a man who has been presumed dead for a year but now has to resurface but his life is in danger, could possibly need. It’s like Sport Billy’s bag. Later on, while Jack doesn't seem to need it, it still goes everywhere with him. I reckon it just contains some cheese sandwiches, some crisps and a Kit-Kat. Saving the world’s a hungry business you know.

So how does Jack have such an amazing grasp of technology? Simple. He’s got Bauer Power. I wish I did.

I spent most of today trying to get my PC to work. For various reasons I had to relocate it from a room upstairs to the dining room table downstairs. It worked when I turned it off upstairs. It didn't when I got it down. I had a hard disk failure, massive sound corruption, a mouse that stopped working, and a wireless Internet connection that refused to stay up. A distinct lack of Bauer Power.

What’s odd in 24 though, is that for all the impressive technology it seems that simple Bluetooth headsets don’t seem to have made it across the Atlantic. Everyone holds their phone while driving with one hand. That can’t be right can it?

And yet I hear rumours that the movie version of 24 is going to be set in London. Well Jack can’t be driving while holding a phone in his hand then can he? It’s against the law. The question is then, who are they going to get that’ll be hard enough to dare pull him over? Ah hold on… I think I’ve worked out why they’ve got Superman back.
