TrustedReviews Christmas List

The verdict has been out for a while now. AMD spanked Intel in the first round of dual core processors. We’re talking whipped, thrashed and humiliated in a Who’s Your Daddy? kinda way. Think Roger Federer verses Tim Henman.
You need one too. Why? You multitask. How do I know this? Because you read a tech website! You’re a geek like me and the rest of the team. Geeks multitask and dual core processors let them do this much better than any single core ever could. Prices are falling too, with the X2 3800+ available for under £200 online so there’s never been a better time to upgrade (well, technically every week that passes is a better week to upgrade, but this is a Christmas feature… share in the Festive Spirit!).

Besides, 2006 is going to be the year of the multicore processor. We’ve already seen the first generation hit the PC, but the next 12 months will see it take off. This month the Xbox 360 also brought multicore to consoles and since only about six people (including Riyad) have managed to purchase one so far January onwards is its big year too, and who could forget the PS3?
So be a trend setter, hop on the boat early and tell your friends you were there when it all went down. Just remember, don’t buy an Intel one…
