VERY excited that colour e-ink is finally here. Can't wait for the fully fledged e-ink 13" screen (or bigger) that I'll be able to connect to my computer and switch to it when the strain from staring at my lcd becomes unbearable!

I'm really excited about colour too! I don't care that they aren't vibrant either. I was never expecting bright, vibrant colours - I think that would go against the whole point of e-ink anyway.

With schools color is definitely a NECESSITY by far. It's a totally different experience in the classroom comparing it to black and white. I can't read off backlit screens for the life of me, literally start tearing after 5 minutes so this is a great solution for me too. I'm gonna order one for me and another for one of my sons who is also obsessed with technology.

I think colour e-ink will be a killer app, if they can get speed and clarity up and price down. I took my Kindle on holiday last year, and it failed (they replaced it without demur, so props to Amazon for that) and I was forced to use the Kindle reader on the iPad.

It was much less relaxing than using the Kindle, *but* the colour really added something to the process. What might be an interesting approach is to have colour you can switch off to conserve battery life. When I'm reading a novel, I don't care about colour. When I'm reading a mag like Analog, it's nice to see the pretty pictures.
