The bods over at DailyTech have certainly shown they’ve shaken off their festive hangovers after spotting an error which reveals a brand new display size is on its way.

The mistake arose when Dell accidentally posted a picture of the 27in ‘W2707C’ - above - on its Dell.com website on a product page for one of the company’s 20in monitors (image now removed). DT leapt on the anomaly and the company fessed up.

Consequently what we know is that Samsung will be providing the panels which will have full HD capable 1920 x 1200 native resolution panels, 1,000:1 contrast ratios and 500 cd/m2 brightness. An 8ms response time should also make them zippy enough for video gaming and movie playback while the leaked photo itself handily means I don’t have to write out the connectivity options.

CES this month has been confirmed as the venue for the model’s official public unveiling (we would suspect with many others) and it will undoubtedly tickle the delicate pink parts of display aficionados everywhere. Me, I’m just annoyed most monitors now appear to be larger than my living room TV…
