Of course a great screen needs a great source to go with it, and Toshiba also had a new high-end DVD player on display. The SD-350E is a very slim and sleek device that would look good under any of the new screens, but it’s not its looks that make this device worth having.
The SD-350E has both HDMI and component video outputs, over which it will pump a PAL progressive signal. The SD-350E will also up-convert to both 720p and 1080i – assuming you have a screen that’s compatible.

You also get DiVX playback thrown into the bargain, which will please MPEG 4 advocates, while MP3 playback will also let you throw in a CD with hours of music on it.
If you’re looking for a portable DVD player, SD-P2700 is worth a look. The 23cm screen on this device is stunning, and it will also tilt and swivel into almost any angle.

As well as playing back standard DVD software, the SD-P2700 will also playback DiVX content, which means you could store several movies on a single disc – a definite advantage with a portable player. There’s also a 3-in-one memory card reader so you can whip your card out of your digital camera and view your handy work instantly.
