After recently releasing two new business projectors Epson has announced two new models designed for the classroom.

The EMP-61 and EMP-81 are specifically designed for the education market. The EMP-61 offers SVGA resolution, while the EMP-81 takes this up to XGA.

One of the chief features of the projectors is that that they offer a low fan noise of only 30db. This ensures that the teacher won’t have any problems being heard over the projector. They also feature built-in 5W speakers, which should provide enough volume without the need for setting up large speakers. Another classroom friendly feature is the exhaust fan, which has been placed at the front so that any air is blown away from the class. The projector is also based on LCD technology, which runs cooler than alternatives such as DLP.

Other specifications include an ANSI lumens rating of 2000, while the silent mode lowers brightness to 1,500, which in turn delivers the 30db noise rating.

The projectors start-up in only seven seconds and cool down in twenty. Keystone distortion can also be quickly corrected thanks to an auto set-up routine.
