Nice review Cliff.
Your are right about carbon fibre tripod being easier to carry.
I read the whole review even though I have already got a carbon fibre tripod last year with my Canon 450D kit. but I was surprised that you didn't review the Manfrotto 190CX Pro4 or Pro3, which are light and compact when folded then 055CX's if I'm correct.
I myself use Manfrotto 190CX Pro4 and find it a delight to use and light to carry.
would have love to see how it fares against the other company offers.

Very interesting review TR. I love every review you guys do. Aiming at the most useful stuff and promoting instead of "bashing". thank you

I have to agree with Sunny. You guys missed out of the Manfrotto 190CX or the Gitzo range... perhaps a part 2 of the review should be considered?

Really pleased to see this review! The camera itself is always only part of the story. Equally pleased to see an Induro tripod in it. I have a C214 and am very pleased with said legs. The Induro ball-head I have on the other hand is "not so great" to put it politely.

Agree with all commentators about the Manfrotto 190CX, which is really a great tripod. Also, can we hope that these tripod reviews are only the first step, and that we'll be seeing more reviews of photographic accessories (lenses, flashes...)?

In fact was hoping to get the 190CX, since I have the metal version of that too myself and would love to try the CF model, but they sent me the 055CX instead. Oddly Gitzo wouldn't send me a tripod for this test; apparently they thought theirs would be too expensive compared to the other models. Maybe next time. And yes, I'm hoping to do a lot more accessory reviews, including flashguns and lenses. Is there anything else that people would like to see?
