Amazon currently have the T700 (in certain colours) for £215: how does that affect the value score for this review and does it make it worth buying?

In general, the prices drop for everything we review, given enough time. This is why we clearly state Price As Reviewed (so you know what it was reviewed & scored against) but also the Latest Price for comparison.
Since Build Quality, Feature and Image Quality haven't changed with a lower price, they all stay as they are. £215 is £43 less, or 17%. That would clearly improve the Value score from 4/10 but bear in mind the competition will also have dropped in price too probably.
Whether or not this would bump it from 7 Overall to an 8 is slightly moot - there are many models that scored 9 Overall at the time of review that might also have dropped in price over time :)

Hi there. Does the T700 suffer from the same 'harsh JPEG compression' that was written about the T77? If so, would a person that just uses a camera for holiday snaps and family shots (me!) really notice this? My latest camera was (until I broke it!) the Sony T9 and I was pretty happy with the image quality from that.
Thanks very much. Regards, Jim
