Here's my usual detail test shot of the West Window of Exeter Cathedral, for you to compare with other cameras. See below for a full res crop, or click to see the whole picture.

The level of fine detail isn't as good as some other 8MP compacts I've tried, but still isn't bad.

The 28mm-equivalent lens produces some barrel distortion, but I've seen worse from less wide-angle lenses.

Sharpness at the centre of the frame is excellent.

Sharpness only falls off at the very farthest corners of the frame.
