The wide-angle end is equivalent to 38mm.

The 7x zoom lens has a telephoto setting equivalent to 270mm, great for pulling out details in a scene.
The dynamic range isn't exactly brilliant...
...but at least there's no purple fringing.
Colour rendition is superb.
