Feeling the need to spend some serious cash on a compact camera but the Olympus PEN E-P1 isn't doing it for you? Perhaps Ricoh has the answer...
The company which remains one of the camera industry's best kept secrets has announced the 'GR Digital III' - the third generation of its high end fixed focal line which it claims "achieves a whole new level of image quality."

Primary to this are a new image processing engine, a new 10.1MP CCD and newly developed 28 mm/F1.9 GR Lens. Burst photography performance has also been improved capturing up to five RAW format shots per second putting it in DSLR territory. On the back you'll also now find a 920,000 dot 3in LCD - approximately six times more than an iPhone - which should enable accurate viewing and basic edits directly on the camera.
The Ricoh GR Digital III will touch down in August at the predictably premium price of £529.99 (incl. VAT). Yes, it's not cheap but Ricoh has been on a roll in recent years thanks to the likes of the CX1, R7, R8 and of course GR Digital II so we have to admit: we're more than a little excited...
