Now onto the NV Series, also bolstered by two extra models.

NV9
The NV9, which looks like an update of the company's NV4, is a 10.2-megapixel slimline camera that shares many of the features already mentioned.

Key aspects include a new inner 5x optical zoom lens (38mm - 190mm equivalent) and a couple of funky gauges reminiscent of an age where analogue readings were the norm. However, these - collectively termed the Mini-Dashboard - have nothing to do with metering and instead indicate battery level and memory card space. Like the NV4 it can double up as an mp3/PMP player too. The NV9 will be available in silver, black, and pink from September, at an RRP of £179.

NV100HD
Finally, we have the NV100HD - a 14.7-megapixel compact with a 28mm equivalent wide-angle lens. Although this is not as wide as the current NV24HD (24mm), the NV100HD now comes with version 2.0 of Samsung's Smart Touch interface where function/setting access and image control have been extended to a high resolution 3in touchscreen LCD. For instance, you can manually rotate an image with your fingertip or delete it by drawing an X on the screen.

Like the NV24HD, the NV100HD can also capture video in high-def and comes with an HDMI interface. Samsung's CEC protocol is also present enabling you to control the NV100HD and a compatible Samsung TV with a single remote control.

The NV100HD will be available in Silver/Red, Silver/Black, and Black, and by calling upon the company's experience within the aerospace industry, a version fashioned from titanium should also make an appearance. The NV100HD will hit the shops from August at an RRP of £229.
