Panasonic Announces Eight New Compact Cameras

Two new ultra-compact cameras with very similar specifications are the DMC-FS20 and DMC-FS5. Both have 10.1-megapixel CCD sensors, 4x zoom lenses equivalent to 30-120mm and virtually identical ultra-slim bodies.
The FS5 is 22.5mm thick and weighs 119g, while the FS20 is 22.9mm and 132g. The reason for this difference is the only feature that sets the two models apart. The FS5 has a 2.5-inch 230k monitor, while the FS20 has the 3.0-inch version. Both cameras feature Mega OIS optical image stabilisation, widescreen WVGA (848 x 480) video at 30fps and Venus Engine IV processing with 6400 ISO maximum sensitivity.
