here are two new models joining the budget-priced, AA-powered Coolpix L (Life) series; the L16 and the L18.

Coolpix L16
The L16 is another Dixons exclusive, and is a 7.1-megapixel model based on the the Coolpix L14, although it features a larger 2.8-inch monitor. It has a 3x zoom lens, face detection, D-lighting for improved high-contrast shots and in-camera red-eye reduction.

Coolpix L18
The new top model in the Coolpix L series is the L18, and 8.0-megapixel model. It too has a 3x zoom lens, equivalent to 35-105mm, but its stand-out feature is its huge 3-inch 230k LCD monitor. Like the other higher-spec models in the L series it also features face detection, in-camera red-eye fix and D-lighting.

Both model are available in silver or black, and will be in the shops in March. The L18 will be priced at £99, although the price of the L16 has not yet been confirmed.
