L100, L110 and L210
The more budget-conscious L-series gets an overhaul as well, with three stylish new ultra-compact models, the 8.1 mega pixel L100, the 10.1 mega pixel L110 and the 10.1 mega pixel L210. All three combine Samsung's Digital Image Stabilization and Intelligent Face Recognition Technology in a compact aluminium body.

All three models also feature 3x optical zoom, a bright 2.5" LCD display and a suite of advanced video and editing features including an MPEG-4 Movie Recording mode which lets users edit and zoom during filming, shutter speeds of up to 1/1500sec for fast moving subjects, maximum ISO of 1600 for better pictures in low light, auto red-eye fix, various scene modes, continuous shooting and exposure bracketing to help get the best shots and 10 megabytes of internal flash memory.

All three will be available from March, with recommended prices of £99 for the L100, £129 for the L110 and £149 for the L210 .

i8
A camera who's name is almost impossible to type with auto spelling correction switched on, the new Samsung i8 is a trendy new 8-megapixel camera with some clever audio-visual features. As well as a 3x zoom internal lens, it has a big 2.7-inch high-res screen, and incorporates a personal multimedia player with MP3 support, so you can watch movies and listen to music. An in-built 'World Tour Guide' function provides access to travel information covering 2,600 regions in 30 countries. Further information can be downloaded directly from the internet into the camera's 195 MB of internal memory. Photographic functions include face-detection AF and 1600 ISO maximum sensitivity. The i8 goes on sale in March priced at £149.
