Digital cameras are certainly getting ever slimmer and more feature packed but the prices remain prohibitive to some. Feel excluded no longer though, Ricoh has just the answer to your woes.

The RP630 packs in many features which buyers could only find in top level cameras just a few months ago, including six megapixels, a 3x optical zoom and sleek dimensions of just 91 x 61 x 27mm and a pocket friendly weight of 150g.

Where the cuts have been made are in the LCD: just 2in, though with a 130k resolution, and the 16MB of internal memory (you were always going to by an SD memory card anyway). Running on regular AA batteries is a sensible decision because of their easy availability and USB connectivity should make transferring your pics a breeze if you don’t have a memory card reader.

Four shooting modes (portrait, landscape, sports and night) should help improve your shots and video recording has also made it onto the camera. Best of all, however, is the price: just £129.99 including VAT. That makes the RP630 a real steal and if there is a better specified digicam on the market right now for the money, I’ve yet to see it…
